Tech Support for Your Senior Loved Ones

As we age, technology is a great way to stay connected and informed. We encourage you to provide the support your loved one needs to do this safely.

  • You are the best person to provide support. Do not be tempted to outsource tech support, especially to a stranger. It will get expensive very quickly and it`s too easy to be victimized.
  • We can help you by installing software that will give you remote access to your loved one`s computer. This will allow you to assist and check in when there is a question or issue.
  • Keep an up to date list of user names and passwords.  This is critical for so many reasons.
  • Keep an eye on email, social media and financial accts to make sure they are being used appropriately and only by your loved one.
  • We often hear our seniors say “we only use our computer to check our financial accts and email”.  This is where we are the most vulnerable to security threats.  Make sure everything is up to date.  You want good working virus protection. You want the computer to be on Windows 10 with all the necessary updates.
  • Remind your loved one to contact you if they have a question or problem. Remind them to never share information or allow access to their computer to a stranger. Too often we assist seniors who have been scammed because they did not want to bother their family members with their “silly” tech questions/concerns. They end up trusting a stranger and it often ends badly.
