It’s the best time of the year! Once again we’ve made a list (and checked it twice) of our Favorite Things.
TMC2’s most loved software:
We recommend Vipre Advanced Security for all of our clients. It runs on Windows and Mac. Security threats are getting more serious everyday and this makes it easy to protect yourself. Click here for more info.
We love Backblaze online backup. It runs in the background whenever you’re connected to the internet, keeps 30 days of file history and offers unlimited storage for $70/year per computer. Also for both PC and Mac. Click here for more info.
Our awesome techs’ Favorite Things
Mike loves 1Password
This password manager is crucial for me. It allows me to keep unique, secure passwords for each account I use and integrates multi-factor authentication without an additional authenticator app, which is a big time saver. 1Password has versions for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and even Linux. These all sync with each other so you’re always able to access your passwords no matter which device you’re on.
Jake loves the Oculus Quest 2
Now that it’s getting cold and everyone’s stuck back inside, this is a great way to venture off by yourself or with a group of people all from the comfort of your home. The Oculus Quest 2 is a stand-alone unit that you do not have to connect to a gaming pc. Probably the most computer related fun I’ve ever had, even if I’m just visiting a museum in virtual reality..
Scott loves LibreOffice
LibreOffice is great for users who want the basic functions of Word, Excel and Powerpoint, without having to purchase Microsoft Office. It’s especially good for personal users who only need to occasionally open documents, as it will open and save files in the Microsoft Office formats.
TJ loves Apple AirTags
These have saved me HOURS of time per month helping me find my keys, wallet and headphones. I also keep one in my golf bag and one on my blind dog’s collar in case he gets out of the house. I think these are superior to Tiles (which have been a previous favorite) because they have a smart tracking feature that points you in the direction of the item you’re looking for.
Lauren loves the Family Album app
This free app is the best way to securely share photos with family. Only the family members you invite will have access to the pictures you’ve uploaded. This can be much safer than posting on social media and less cumbersome than a group text thread. Family Album comes with unlimited storage and with the premium membership, you can upload pictures from your computer too.
